Privacy policy for the KidsCrypt app

The German version of this policy is authoritative.

In short

KidsCrypt does not collect any personal data. The app needs no account, contains no ads, no analytics or tracking services and no purchases, and does not connect to the internet itself. Your texts are neither saved nor transmitted. I have no access to any of it.

Data on your device

The app only stores its settings in its own storage area on your device:

The app does not save the texts on the board. They are discarded when you close the app. The settings are deleted when you delete the app. They may be part of a device backup that you create via iCloud or your computer; your settings and Apple's terms apply to such backups.

Clipboard

If you switch on “Copy to Clipboard”, the app puts the ciphered text on your device's clipboard. The app only reads the clipboard when you tap the paper clip to paste a text; iOS may ask for your permission. The clipboard stays on your device; the app does not transmit its content.

Sharing texts

When you share a text, the app hands it to the application you choose in the share sheet, for example Messages or Mail. What happens to the text there is up to you and that application. I receive nothing.

Children

The app is suitable for children. It asks for no personal information, shows no ads, offers no purchases and contains no links to the internet.

App Store and Apple services

You use Apple's App Store to download and update the app. Apple processes the data required for this under its own responsibility; Apple's privacy policy applies. If you have agreed in your device settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple provides me with aggregated usage and crash statistics. I cannot identify individual persons from them.

Contact by email

If you write to me about the app, I process your details to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, otherwise (f)). The email is deleted once the request has been dealt with and no statutory retention obligations apply.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR) and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). As the app does not transmit any personal data to me, in practice this mainly concerns emails you send me.
